Can you activate PDC/camera with single button if "off" in iDrive?

I tried to list the entire question in the title. What I'm trying to do is NOT have the camera display and PDC light every time I go into reverse, but to be able to activate it by pushing the PDC console button. If I uncheck all maneuvering aid displays in iDrive they don't appear on shifting into reverse (GOOD) but then nothing happens when pushing the console button (BAD). Am I missing something? Can't I activate the displays only in certain instances in reverse with a single button push? Thanks-
