Sound System in my X!

Maybe i care too much about the sound system, but that's my nature, and i pay a lot of attention to it.

The sound system in my X is alright, in my opinion when it comes to a sound system in a car, all are pretty much equal, harman/kardon Bose and so on, my s class Bose system is quit alright as well.

The reason i posted this is because today i was driving my friends Audi S8 the whole day and i was shocked, Bang & Olufsen system in an Audi is something else, best sound i have ever heard in a car, no door vibration, base is amazing and clarity of the sound, after that system the sound in my X felt to me very average.

After reading about Bang & Olufsen i found out, that Merc AMG models will be equiped with Bang & Olufsen audio systems, i would love to see at least M models equiped with this amazing sound system as well.

I'am sure some of you will say that, you would rather listen to M engine revs instead of the amazing audio system, but merc AMG engines are not toyota corolla either, and Merc still went ahead with it.

In my opinion X5 M is the top of the line, and there is nothing after that, so when you pay the most money you want the most, maybe it's just me, i'am strange when it comes to options, but i think x5 and x6 M versions should have this audio systems

BMW Individual sound system is supposedly even better than the B&O in the Audi. It would be a special request option though and I have no idea of the cost.

i did a lot of research on "Individual" options for my 2010. Unfortunately by the time I received much of the info I was too far into production to make the special changes. I don't know if they were going to put me on a different chasis entirely to do it or if they were just going to push my existing one back or pull it off the line. But either way I would have had to wait too long and would have not been able to have the $4500 Eco savings. That would have REALLY inflated the price of the options we were considering (trim, sound and High Gloss roof rails).

Next time we order though, I'm going to be prepared.

I was told the top sound system wasnt that much better than the standard and not worth the extra money .. that said I never hear the difference, so cant say.. Im reasonably ok with my set up that said which is the middle option that comes with the NAV... IIRC

Its no 5.1 setup though

Maaan i'am so happy for you, thats grand!

I would love to check out the system quality on that beast.

I have a premium system in mine and it is nothing special, at least nothing compair to the s8 bang & olufsen.

don't forget to let us know the quality ok?
