Whistle IPOD

Well, today I went to the stealer and bought an IPOD integration kit, they kept telling me it needs programming which I knew that before today(but I said i will give it a shot before paying the steeler), my 07 4.8 is equiped with CD changer.

anyway just to make the story short, I removed the CD changer, then plugged in the IPOD module, and here we go I was able to use the IPOD without programming, the whole thing took 15 minutes.

the stealer will charge $260 for installation, which will take 15 minutes!!!!!!!

NO PROGRAMMING REQUIRED IF THE X5 HAS CD CHANGER. the cd changer has to be removed( which I do not care about it)

HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU IF U R PLANNING TO INSTALL A BMW IPOD KIT.

E70 ipod connectivity

Thks for the info. I have a CD changer but no USB connectivity. So with the ipod integration kit, can you integrate it with the IDRIVE and so you can also scroll and select songs from your steering wheel controls? What else would be needed?

tks

The key thing to remember with this installation
is if the CD changer has been installed then the
system had to be programed for it to work.
Once that's done the OS doesn't care what
get's installed provided the device is
meant to be used with the BMW OS.

I found this out when I Installed our iPod
integration kit. We didn't have a CD Player
so the system was not set up to recognize
any device. I saved the installation charge
and installed it myself but it needed to be
recognized.

Good to know that! Do you have the part number of the ipod kit and how much is it? Will that also work with iPHONE via iDrive?
I have 08 X5 but does not has CD changer and USB port. Do you think i need to get program by the "Stealer"?

Thanks.
