auto car wash instruction

I notice the manual says to shut-off engine before entering an auto wash. Do you follow that instruction? I've never noticed such an instruction in other car manuals, but perhaps it is common.

Step 1) Don't use an auto car wash.

Problem solved.

i don't usually turn off the motor but after a strange incident last week i plan to start.

i believe my motor tried to ingest water at a rather aggressively spraying auto carwash. the tach crashed and the car shook briefly but it didn't stall. pretty sure water was forced in to the intake.

and my damn tailgate holds water too, but that is another issue.

I can't imagine doing without auto washes. I don't have time to schedule appointments for hand washing on a regular basis, and even if I did have time, I wouldn't have the req'd. patience. Washing it myself more than once a year (on a nice warm day) -- no way.

I only send the CEO's CR-V through a car wash, and though I never really paid
attention, I think the car is off and in neutral, but that's a guess...or, maybe
it's on so the power steering continues to function.
