Lease vs. Buy -- potential savings on reduced residual at end of lease?
I know BMW took a hit recently on X5s coming off lease as their auction value was less than the residuals so you could purchase them for under the residual.

So -- it got me to pondering if a lease is a decent alternative to a purchase if the same thing happens three years from now. The current 55% residual seems pretty high for the X5 diesel considering the $4500 eco credit.

Thoughts?
