Impressions from a new owner. (New to BMW as well)

I just purchased and picked up a 2010 X5 d. I have never owned a BMW. I traded in my 2007 Lexus 400h, and before that had an Infiniti SUV.

I am very impressed so far. Very powerful! We have photo radar here in AZ, so I need to be careful. A few observations from a newby.

1. I am finding black soot all over the outside of the X, but mainly on the black molding. I thought it was AZ dust, but found black on my pants when I bumped into the car. I have heard that German cars have brake dust, but I thought that was just on the wheels.

2. The new iDrive is nice, but is different for me. I am accustomed to touch screen and the new Lexus has a "mouse", but no biggie.

3. If you turn the rear air on cold and close the vents, you have a makeshift cooler in the center console. I'm sure that wasn't intentional, but cool, nonetheless.


I have only had the car for a week, so that is all for now.
