Angry Headlight Washers packed in again!!!

My headlamp washers have packed in again - less than a year after the last time! It is such a pain as it is a 2 hour round trip to the dealer! Plus you have to normally wait two weeks for an appointment!

We had a heavy frost on Sunday night (-5C) and everything was frozen up. But Windscreen and rear screen washers work fine so bottle isn't frozen (I had just added screenwash at the weekend to prevent freezing).

aaaaaargh!

"Packed-in" as in they won't pop out, or won't squirt? Did you try removing the ice around the headlamp washer?

That is easier said than done....The washer system is tucked away in the fender and is very difficult to get to! Besides which I don't have a blow dryer - my hair is too short!

If it is frozen, then I would put it in a warm garage.... the next morning empty the wiper fluid and put in new anti-freeze wiper fluid....

My X is too long for the garage! And I live in Rural Scotland so there is no such thing as a warm garage at this time of year.

The windshield nozzles are heated, but I;m not sure about the headlamp washers. Typically the freezing problem is in the hoses/plumbing, rather than the reservoir. Fresh Winter washer fluid before the cold weather, accompanied by many uses of the washer to flush the old stuff out of the lines and nozzles, often helps.
