I was thinking of adding it but then heard comments that it dings/dents easily. So, will stick with the wood!

If you're going with Black leather, aluminium is the way to go unless you're clumsy.

Check pictures on this one: http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=l1rxubdzytdc

and also this one (Individual Azurite Black exterior) http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=lqalfr2f2fbj

I've got the brushed alu combined with the saddle brown leather, I think it looks amazing
it adds some refinement rather than the wood trim that makes it feel like an old man's car (sorry for those who dig wood trim, I just don't like it...)
the alu scratches easily, but if you pay some attention, you should be fine
so far, only 1 scratch near the seat-belt lock at the driver side after 25.000kms of everyday use.
just make sure that you don't have any other keys or chain ring hanging from the key fob as this rattles and scratches the trim around the slot in the dash... or get keyless entry

I've scratched mine with a key fob, but it's nice and when you touch it, you feel the cold aluminium that make a real difference with painted plastic parts.

Here are 2 pics of mine, but with "camel" leather with black dashboard :

I love how you put that. I got the same comments when I went brushed aluminum in my 7.

you have pics of the saddle brown? it looks good in some pictures but a bit burnt orange on others... i'm still 50/50 on saddle brown. i currently have the black nevada but would like something different...

how do you like it? lots of compliments?

here's a picture:

but it isn't nearly as good as IRL

I had black leather and alu in my E61 and wanted something different for once
I think saddle brown looks really good and not orange at all
try to look around for some recent BMW's, it's a popular choice
it gives the interior a clearer look as well
I testdrove a black leather X5 and I found the interior too dark... (it was combined with dark wood)
