radio is stuck on
I have a 2004 X5 4.4 and it has the stereo / nav unit that has a cassette player (like I ever used it). Today, I noticed that the buttons on the left side of the nav screen would not work and when I turned the key off to get out of the car, the stereo stayed on.
I was thinking that there might be a way to "reset" the radio / nav unit or maybe I could just disconnect the battery and then reconnect and affect a restart. Any ideas? If I do go for the battery idea, where is the battery? Will I need a restart code to get the stereo started again? thanks, navin |

okay. I decided to try something different than disconnecting the battery. disconnecting the battery probably would have worked, but man is that battery a pain in the ass to get to.
I pulled out the three fuses that control the navigation and radio in the rear hatch, then replaced them and then restarted the car and the radio problem was fixed. I wanted to post this for someone else, if they have the same problem. thanks. |
