I ordered my VR/beige 3.5d on 10/23, received the production number on 10/29 and the car was delivered to my dealer on 11/10. Sounds like your dealer doesn't yet have an allocation for the build? Maybe the Saddle brown leather or another option you selected is causing a delay?

My build number was assigned on 10/22. Order accepted and placed in a production pack 1st week Nov.
Build week was 46 but still no production date set. The procedure for building is not FIFO as orders placed as much as 10 days after mine (and more complex) have already been delivered. Of course the BMW reps don't have an asnwer.

Build date is the week of December 1st 2009
I had received an email from CA stating that build date is the week of December 1st 2009
Any guess how much time it takes to build and truck it to North East (Connecticut) ![]() Regards |

Well, Well.
Called the 800 # and mine finally begun production this morn. They also took note of the problems with "Track my BMW" info.

production number
If I got the production number, does it mean my dealer has allocation?

If your dealer has an allocation, you won't wait as long for a new order. They will just change the specs of one they had in the hopper, as opposed to waiting for a new slot. The length of the wait between getting a production number and actually being in production status will depend on whether your dealer has an allocation he can change. Enjoy the agonizing wait.

Thanks a lot.
I placed my order on 11/7 for 2010 X5d and my CA gave a print out on 11/8 with production number. Does it means my dealer has allocation? Could it be from his future allocation? If it is from his future allocation, could my wait be very long? Months? |

I placed my order on 9/13. Car was completed 11/13. Delivery is supposed to be 2nd week of December. So thats 3 months!!! I missed my dealers first allocation and ended up on the next which I think is why it took so long. That and the EPA delay. Hopefully yours will take less time than mine.
