Strange Nav/Idrive in 2010 X5d

Problem is only when 1 key is inserted, the other key works fine....

With the problem key, I can not turn on "night" mode in the Nav. I also can not get the points of interest to show up in the nav. This is only when 1 key is inserted. The other key has no issues.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Tim

Make sure that you're not in "Traffic" mode.

That was it! But, what exactly does that do? Why wouldn't you be able to switch to night mode with traffic mode on?

Traffic mode changes the color of the map (to gray-scale) so you can easily see the contrasting colors of varying traffic densities on said map.

I found that if you input a destination, you will see traffic info on the map, whether you are in traffic mode or not.
