15 gallons of regular
Yet, I asked to fill it with PREMIUM!
The gas prices in NJ are great in comparison to other states, and not having to pump your own gas is also a nice perq. BUT, having the nimrod pump your X5 full with 15 gallons of regular because he doesn't understand a word of English, not so good. Friggin annoying.

Ouch. Do you feel the reduced performance? Which engine do you use?

I'm taking a ride out to Pennsylvania this week so I'll burn it off and fill it with Sunoco 93.

Stupid question...don't you watch to make sure they press the right button?
Just wondering

That sucks. I enjoy coming from the land of not pumping our own gas but I watch those guys like a hawk. I frequent the same station. The attendant wants to know why I insist on telling him "Fill it up, super." and watching what button he presses. I'm there twice a week and he knows what I want. Probably because I caught another attendant at that station pressing the regular button.

you guys all realize with the variable timing and the anti-knocking sensors that the engine has, when it detects a lower octane it just adjusts for it... gasoline is a volatile compound... its octane level varies depending on what has evaporated and what not... putting in the occassional 87 doesn't hurt the engine... this isn't 1980 anymore...

One of my first jobs when I was 16 was pumping gas in Oregon. I referred to my job title as "petroleum transfer engineer". You do have to watch those guy because usually it's a teenager or no-brainer doing it. I knew the owner of the gas station and he let me work after school. But the guys that came thru working there where a little nutty and high. I think you would have to be if you were 40 and pumping gas for minimum wage.

sorry i didn't see your last post until after my post came up... i was working off an older cached version of the page... I do agree NJ has that quirky law that throws me off everytime i visit... though I don't think I care about what they put in as much as what they charged me...
