Ditto my sand beige interior 2010 35d. El Cheapo solution (I know, I know - oxymoronic for a $65+K vehicle) for us was to contact cement a hand trimmed piece of 'Target' or 'Kragen' grade black rubber floormat onto the offending dead pedal.

It's $38.95 at getbmwparts.com ... but from the pics it doesn't look that hot... to me... I prefer the AC Schnitzer one or the aluminum w/rubber ribs accessory one.
