Exclamation High pitched screeching sound from brakes. Only 3000 miles/5000 km

Sometimes with light brake application comes high pitched steel screeching sound, like an old car with worn out brakes makes. But the vehicle has less than 3000 miles, or 5000 km. Could the brakes be low on brake fluid? Any idea?

Apply your brake hard, but safely, a few times. I'll bet the noise goes away for a few days.

hard braking a few times took care of this for me and it has never come back. A few threads on this.

I have the same problem, but it happens only when it rains or when I drive out of a car wash.

I had the same thing, and the dealer took the brakes apart, cleaned all the parts, and "lubed" the parts that are supposed to be lubed (a bit disconcerting that they need to "lube" brakes), and the squealing went away, and after 2 mos, still hasn't come back.....I am wondering if the lubed parts lost the lube in the carwash since the wheel cleaning method includes a lot of soap and high pressure sprayers directed into the wheels and brakes....On the upside, my wheels always end up clean, as do the calipers.....On the downside, the lube on the "lubed parts" comes off and causes the squealing.....Who knows, just a theory,,,,,,Good luck!

The lubrication theory might actually have some truth to it. The screeching started to happen a week or two after I had it hand-washed. Before that it was just groaning noise.

Talking about the brake groaning noise, it's still there when I'm braking while going slow. Any idea about the groaning noise?

Maybe it's particles from that road salt spray job you wondered about a while back; could be small particles of grit/debris stuck in your pads,
abrading against the rotors...dunno.
Brake squeaks come and go, on every vehicle I have.

I can only concur, had the issue for a few weeks and then it went away all on its own.
