HUMMM AT IDLE

2008 3.0
When I am at idle (in gear or out of gear) I hear a humm. If I move the throttle/RPMs a little it goes away. I have tried turning the a/c off, the blower off and I still hear the hummmm. Any ideas? Thanks

Has the vehicle been serviced lately?

Check engine cover and see if it has pulled loose of any of its clamps. Also, check that the air intake hose where it attaches up front for tightness. That type of noise can be something loose that is resonating at idle, slight blip of the throttle or at speed you typically wouldn't hear the noise.

I just had my first oil service on 09 35d, had a noise at idle, found the engine cover not pushed all the way into its clamps (but not the problem) but also found the air hose loose at the front of the engine bay, re-installed correctly and noise was history. May not be your problem, but worth a check. Good Luck!
