Front wheel don't lock in park
Anyone else noticed this? Thanks |

The front wheels aren't supposed to lock. The rears will have been locked and simply been sliding on ice on your drive whilst your fronts will have been rotating as it slid.

I thought that when you put your gearbox into 'P' it locked the gearbox and hence in a 4wd would lock the 4 wheels
|

The xDrive system is inherently a rear-wheel drive system with front-drive capability. If the system ever fails or when the vehicle is off, only the rear-wheels are engaged. (Learned this when changing wheels for the first time........the fronts roll freely whereas the rears do not)
