Exclamation 4.8 20" Y-spoke wheels with performance tires

How long do the tires last? I think something's up because I just replaced them in October and now that I put 9,000 miles on them they're worn down to the wear indicator again. My service advisor said I should call the manager om Monday asap as this seems kind of fishy. Keep in mind most of my driving is along my day to day commute. I'm not doing doughnuts! I wish they weren't so expensive.

20K miles on 18" Dueler RFT

I have 20K miles on the original Duelers. Unsure of the tread depth remaining. I had to replace one of them due to puncture at about 17K. At that time the tire guy did not recommend replacing any of the other tires.

I bought the wheel and tire insurance and received $300 of benefit on my $900 premium within the first 6 months of ownership. So far it seems like a good decision. Plus, the leaky RFT allowed me to make a critical 500 mile business trip ( with periodic pressure checks ).

That said I would probably try a different RFT next, as long as it meets the terms of the insurance. I have read reviews of the Michelin that suggest better handling and quieter ride.

I got 28k miles from a set of Duelers on my last e53 4.8, mostly high speed motorway works, very little town driving.

I specified Duelers on the e70 that I have just taken delivery of as they are an all weather tyre as opposed to the standard 'summer tyre' but as you say they are a little on the noisy side.

I Have 31000 on my 20" Duelers... and still going..... after the first 25000 they started making more road noise and I can feel a lot more the bumps.. but its still bearable!

I have duelers rft's on my stock 18's its a bit noisy, but I have 16k, and they still look brand new. Im going to order the non-rfts for my 20" 214's the ride is good and they last long, so I think I can deal with the noise..my second choice was the Toyo Proxys for a $100 less ($800) shipped, but I don't think I'll get the same wear a the duelers

13000 on my Dunlops. Fronts are getting close to wear bar. Rears look good. Hope to get to spring/summer on the fronts.
