Welcome Pics New 2010 X35D

Well, we have only had it home 5 days of the last ten, so I'm a little late in posting up the pics. Today was a beautiful day in Portland, OR so we took a drive and I took pics after (the car is now dusty in the pics- sorry!). Our X5 has the following option packages:
  • Premium
  • Sport Activity
  • Cold Weather
  • Rear Climate
  • Technology
  • Sport Package w/ Adaptive Drive and Multi-Contour Seats
  • Space Saver Spare
  • Roof Rails
  • Running Boards
  • Ipod adapter
  • Smartphone integration (why did I order this- useless so far)
  • Colors- Vermilion Red/Saddle Brown Nevada
All of my previous BMW's have been M's, so this is our first 'standard' BMW. Only 200 miles so far so the impressions are limited. Overall the SAV is extremely comfortable, the comfort seats are fantastic and the ride is smooth and quite. The sunroof is great, open it up and it's almost like a convertible. Handling with the active drive is really remarkable, it's hard to get used to going so fast around a curve when you are so far up from the road! Not M3 handling, but faster than your passengers will feel comfortable with. So far economy around hills and city driving is about 18mpg, but I'm sure it will improve.

Nice! What is the white sticker above your tow hitch?

It says: Do not exceed trailer tow ratings of 6000 lbs trailer weight and 600 lbs tongue weight, plus a lot of legal mumbo jumbo, like don't use unauthorized BMW cell phones while towing, and heavy or overweight passengers may reduce your towing capacity, and my favorite- use of cartoon character tow hitch covers may void BMW warranty.

OK- just kidding on the legal stuff. It does say in small print not to modify, drill or weld your tow hitch and that trailer brakes are not connected (which makes me wonder if there is a BMW trailer brake kit?).

My white sticker lasted on day before I removed it.

I'm going to frame mine with my smart airbag warning stickers.

Soon we will all have the following warning sticker in every car:

CAUTION: Pressing pedals with your feet when the car ignition is on may cause the vehicle to MOVE or STOP suddenly.
CAUTION: Turning steering wheel when the car is in motion will cause the car to change direction suddenly.
WARNING: Blind or legally blind drivers should sit in the passenger seat away from vehicle controls.
EXTREME CAUTION: Please read owners manual before placing floor mats as they may cause unintended acceleration if placed improperly.

Thank goodness I was born without an owner's manual!

That looks surprisingly similar to our diesel! We're just missing the Sports Activity Package and have Light Poplar Wood instead. Great color combination!

I didn't know they existed. Thankfully ours didn't get a sticker when we had our hitch installed. It really is an eyesore.

Soon, all US models will get an extra step prior to starting any BMW.

"Warning: Operating a vehicle is a dangerous action which may or may not result in serious injury or death. Always follow local laws and regulations when the vehicle is in motion. There is a risk of property damage to yourself and possibly other drivers. Understand that operating this vehicle in a safe manner is the sole responsibility of the driver. Press BC button to accept and start vehicle."

Thank god my X3 has no warning stickers, whatsoever. I removed them all, including the eyesores on the sunvisor.
