Exclamation The vehicle rocks right/left on start

I have a 08 X5 3.0 gasoline engine.

When I start the vehicle in the morning, I can feel the car rocking slightly right and left when the gear's in P and stationary. This happnes periodically until the car warms up in say 3 minutes or so, all when it's stationary.

Is this something to take to the dealer for? Or just normal?

Depends on what you are doing in the truck....

60's flash back: If the truck is rocking, don't come knocking.

On a more serious note...

It really depends on the frequency of the rocking. Is it in sync with the engine rpm (e.g. like a miss-fire in the engine). Or is it much slower.

FWIW the auto leveling rear suspension on our old E53 would somtimes lose air pressure when it was very cold and pump up the air bladders a little unevenly.

Haha, not that kind of big rocking though.

It lasts only about 3 to 5 seconds and occurs about 2 to 3 times during the first 2 or 3 minutes of fresh ignition. It's pretty subtle but noticeable. And I don't have the rear air suspension.

I think there might be something serious wrong. It's getting worse since the cylinder head replacement.

It's service center time again, along with transmission and suspension noises.

Cylinder head replacement on an '08? WOW, definitely take it in.

Do you have Adaptive Drive (sport button next to shifter)? If so it might be a fault with that.
