problems with auto-hold?

I've been using this a lot more on local roads... it's quite grown on me now that I remember I actually have it on most times. Last night though I put it on after I hit my first stop light... when I went to go, the auto-H changed to a red PARK as if I got up from the seat (the safety measure). I released and moved on but it was real flaky the rest of the way. I would set it again and arrive at the next light... as I came to a stop, the green Auto-H on the dash turned off on its own (I had to hold the brake normally). And one additional time it turned red to park. This randomness happened a few times in addition to it working fine a few times. Today it has been fine again.

Anyone experience inconsistencies? Quite a while back Auto-H wouldn't even turn on while I was driving around... but that hadn't happened again.

Spill anything into the switch (switch shorting)? My wife spilled a few drops of juice on the auto-hold switch and it was sticky for a while, but never switched on and off randomly.....

I had similiar issues with my 35d

slightly worse in that after a while it just stopped working altogether ... I took mine back to dealer and it spent three weeks in the shop as there is a new design fix for handbrake issues just been released by BMW globally for E70 X5's ... 99.9% of people will never experience an issue so not a recall situation... Once parts were in from germany it took only a day or so ..no issues with handbrake since then ... if you are still under warranty then suggest you enquire on this with your dealer directly and see if they can preorder the parts so that you can keep it on the road ... the last you want is unreliable handbrake issues ..

I've had exactly the same issues with auto hold. Do you know what the SI B I can reference to my dealer? It's being in the for this issue so many times and they haven't managed to fix it. Thanks!
