Anyone ever cover their dash in summer? Just spitballing...

Searched and found nothing. Love my dash and really cannot imagine covering it. Yet, living in hot summer climate (95-105 and higher when in Phoenix), a dark dash can really blast driver and passenger with heat. I've had high end (usually sueded) dash mats/toppers in every car up until this and find them surprisingly effective at deflecting windshield/dash heat while driving. Summer is not here yet but I find myself thinking about it (73 degrees here today - sorry). My X is AW/beige. Found many beige sueded toppers but still not ready to do it. I'll probably wait until late May or June to see how good the AC is and how much heat the dash attracts while driving. If I were to do this, I'd probably like to find one in oyster as that color would better deflect the heat even tho not a great match for the beige. Problem with beige is any would likely not be a good match and going darker defeats the purpose. The carpet ones aren't for me and neither are the velour. This is probably a silly idea, and I will probably not do it for this vehicle. But, we have some creative types in here so if anyone has come up with a high end/quality approach to this issue, I'd love to hear/see about it.

look into getting some ceramic tint like huper optik which helps keep the heat out a great deal. Plus it looks good.

We found the dash got too hot here in Perth, 40 degrees plus some days. Got a dash mat made, as they were not available for the E70 our car was used for the template. Still gets hot but not as bad and looks smart in black
