Removed H&R springs, installed Eibach

So, I've had the H&R lowering springs in my X5 4.8 for about a year and lately I feel like they have been riding worse than ever. I've always been a little bothered about the way the car handles harsh speed bumps in that when you hit a good sized bump at more than 4-5 mph the whole car seems to move as there is almost no suspension travel from the front. I happened to have a set of Eibach springs in stock for my truck and last Friday I swapped out the H&R's and installed Eibachs.

WOW! There is absolutely no comparison in ride quality. This is not one of these mindless raves where I'm exaggerating based on a horrible previous experience; this is a true before and after comparison, and there is absolutely no question that the Eibachs are much, much, much more comfortable.

Imperfections in the road seem invisible now, speed bumps of any size are handled with poise and grace, and the general ride quality is nothing short of exceptional. Although I don't have a stock vehicle to compare it to, I am absolutely thrilled at the way my car drives now.

Just an FYI for those who are torn between the H&R and Eibach products.

Pictures are here: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...r-content.html

The lowering amount from the Eibach's was within 1/8" of the H&R's. These are older pictures with the H&R's but the drop is basically the same; I haven't taken new pics yet.

I'd love to know how the Eibach's ride compared to standard....speed bumps on the standard suspension are no fun. I'd be seriously tempted if they are better.

Absolutely positively better all the way 'round. Same speedbump that I had to take at under 5 mph before lowering and with H&R's is handled with poise and grace with the Eibachs. No contest on this one. Eibach wins.
