OEM iPod kit from E60??

I just picked up my '07 X5 and would like to install an ipod connection. Just wondering if anyone knows if the BMW OEM MOST iPod integration kit I pulled out of my 550i would work with the X5? I couldn't find any info on a DIY install of the OEM iPod integration kit aside from E53 installs. In my 550 it was as simple as connecting a couple of optical cables to the kit which were located in the glove box with the fuse panel. Does the connection take place inside the dashboard on the E70? Any ideas?

Same kit is used, provided you are prewired for a changer on both vehicles. If the X5 does not have a CD Changer present, it will need coding.

I have a in dash cd changer....where multiple cd's are fed into the in dash cd player...would that do it? There is no iDrive access to the multiple cd's as it's done through selection buttons directly on the cd player.

Do you think I'll find the wiring harness with the optical cables required to connect to my existing e60 interface in my e70 glove box or do I need to get at them from the dash?

Thanks!

I'm referring to the changer in the glovebox. Can you PM me the last 7 of your VIN and I'll check for you?
