Diesel Price Hike?

normally, in Calif. the Diesel is right around the same price as regular. The past couple of months, it's actually been below regular.

I passed by the place I normally get gas, and Diesel was up 20 cents to 3.25, or almost the same price as premium (regular still at 3.09).

is there a universal hike going on in Calif. (and beyond), or was this fairly isolated?

I haven't seen a disproportionate diesel hike up here in sf bay area. Use gas buddy or mapquest to compare prices. They do fluctuate a lot from station to station. I just filled up at a local shell station for $3.09 which is pretty good considering Shell is usually on the expensive side.

I find diesel prices to be a crapshoot. I saw a 25 cent price difference between gas stations within 5 miles from each other one day. I would have been pissed if I stopped.

It must be the lucky day, 25 cents difference is impossible in aussie even between different stations (brand). but it looks like diesel price increased a little bit recently

IT just went up by a large amount here. On my last tank I payed about 2.90/ gallon. Today 3.24! Its 25 cents more than mid grade. It used to be the same as mid grade. I don't know what's up.

Jumped .25 here also. Now 3.15 versus 2.90 for premium.

Doesn't diesel prices become more expensive that gas in certain times in the year, then lower during others?

I always eye the prices of diesel whenever I'm fueling up my thirst V8. For a while, diesel has been less. Just this week, I saw a few stations where the diesel price was above premium gas.

Over the last month, Diesel price went up here too, from just under the price of medium grade gas to the same price of premium gas ( currently 2.9/gal).

Diesel ususally goes up in the winter because of the demand for heating fuel. It should go down in the summer. Right now diesel is 2.979, regular 2.599, premium 93 octane at BP 2.899
