I knew about the scratches but still went with brushed aluminum because it is the nicest trim available. Don't let the scratches and dents stop you from getting it if it is what you like.

personally I think the Aluminium looks cheap, but that is just my opinion.

I struggled with the same decision. I got the aluminum and think it looks beautiful. As careful as I am, I do have dings on the trim on the center console. I don't even know how I do it.

Paspar2, the 5th photo is a daytime pic of the interior... are there any particular angles/areas of the interior you want me to take pics of?

I think the brushed aluminium contrasts well with black interior, and gives it a more sporty look IMHO. If I went with a light interior I would go with dark bamboo trim to get that business class look and feel, and contrast.

Agree, it looks good, nice and sporty. but the car is a lease and judging by the look of my current e70 I am not getting a less durable surface then I have now.... kids do a number on everything they touch and I dont want to police them, the e70 is their transporter, I have my own toy.

Carbon fiber would look great! I saw some posts about folks wrapping interior pieces in CF "fabric" on the Porsche forums. This obviously gives you the look but not the strength of CF. It came out nice...

I've always been a fan of the alum trim (with black interior) sadly not an option on the x5d. Can this be retrofitted with the alum trim kit off the x50?

I was also told about the cf fabric on another forum.
