2010 BMW X5 vs 2011 X5 in pictures

Dropping this link from Auto Rivals in here because I can never find it and literally have to show friends the difference between the 2010 and the 2011 or they'd never know the difference Hope some of you like it too.

2011 X50 vs my 2007 X5 4.8 - Photos

Just happened upon a 2011 at my local dealer that was the same color. Couldn't resist the opportunity to park alongside it and take a few pics.

I was honestly torn between which looked better. For me, I liked the more "rugged" look of the 2007 with the black bumpers. Plus, I think the 2011 bumpers will scratch and get marked alot easier than the prior years.

I'm guessing that if you showed both cars to someone who had no prior X5 knowledge, it would be a toss up.

Just my opinion though.

^^ Good catch. I am waiting to see how many members here switch the taillights to facelift and how many do the full front facelift. Seen quite a few E53 members do facelift on their pre-facelift X5s. I know it will happen with E70 too.

new rear definitely looks improved

is the hood the same part or am I seeing the new one flatter - maybe just the angle?

I believe that is a 35i and not a 50i based upon black grill, and tail pipes. Still a good comparison, though.

You have to remember that the e53 has always had painted rear bumpers. Personally, I think the black rear bumpers look too much like the old ML's when they first came out--looks kind of cheap plus they can fade over time if not taken care of. Though on black colors the black bumpers aren't too bad.

I don't think there will be a single 'full frontal' change. Look at the fender to bumper parting line change.
