Why would you do this? I understand on models where you're covering yellow reflectivity ... but here?

Like the first pic, but not the second... I think they should angle back to the far corners vs jut straight up like that. Otherwise I like the aggressive look it gives. Maybe some black vinyl could be cheap enough to give you a few tries, to see what angles look best.
