My new rear entertainment system

Installed today at my BMW dealer! The actual install was done by Eurologics themselves at the dealership. The fit and finish is superb. I love the fact that the screens are wrapped in OEM leather. It blends in with the rest of the interior perfectly.

Some crappy iPhone pictures:

Not bad looking at all... very clean. Touchscreen right (not a fan of fingerprints myself)? Do they play independent of each other if need be? Where's the disc go in? Is it idrive-controllable - I keep thinking you'd have to stop the car and get out just to do anything the kids wanted (how do minivans do it?).

Is the headrest able to come all the way down?

I'd ask for more specifics (like does it work against sport-seat headrests) but I notice you're in Europe and I can't possibly get in on it too.

The units can play independently or they can play the same thing on both screens.

They both have a DVD player inside. The screen flips open and the DVD is inserted at the top.

The screen is fitted at the rear of the seat so the headrest is still fully functional. This system is approved by BMW Netherlands since the whiplash function of the headrest is still intact.

I had the choice between the OEM BMW system with the plastic brackets. This is a BMW Netherlands aftermarkt approved system installed by Eurologics.

It's only touchscreen so you cannot control it with the I-Drive.

Eurologics have different leather wrapped brackets for the different BMW Seats and models.

The reason why I choose this version is the fact that it looks really OEM, I can play different DVD's on the 2 screens for the kids, the screen is LED instead of LCD and the finish looks very good.

Both kits are OE and available through BMW. If you require more information I can be reached at my office 9am-6pm. Thanks!

LED is a version of LCD. It is just a differnt type of panel technology.

TFT LCD - Thin Film Tape (LCD)
LED LCD - Light Emitting Diode (LED)

Also just an FYI the INViSiON Manufactured system is also LED panel Technology and play's 2 separate DVD's for the kids or adults. Whichever! LOL!

I recently met the gentlemen behind the "Advanced" DVD kit offered through BMW and pictured above. Helluvaguy and I hope he made it home safely, I hate volcanic ash!

Lawrence... can you post a real pic of how your invision product is installed on an e70? I think the one from bmwusa.com is just a generic pic.

Looks Great! How in the heck do you keep those seats clean! Seems like any bit of dirt would show up.
