I just noticed this morning the damn Glove Compartment

is peeling off..the top portion(black part)..looks like the glue behind it has given up holding it together.. now the glove compartment wont open unless i push down on it..damn...good part is i made an appointment a few day ago for check up....issue: steering makes noise at parking speed, brakes make high grinding noise at low speed(especially when brakes are hot) and service light came on (notification on dash 1300 miles need of check up). 28,770 miles ....,,anyones else have problem with glove compartment?

Are we talking about the center console between the seats or the compartment in front of the passenger seat?

If it's the center console, I thought BMW designed it where you are required to press down on the console to depress the button before opening it. At least that's what I was told by service and sales guys.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
For some reason the glue they used to hold that padded leather looking part on during the first couple years of production lets go in the heat... they have updated parts and will change it for you under warranty. You can have it done the next time you go in for service/maintenance or just call and make an appointment to have it done. (calling ahead may allow them to order it in the correct color if they don't have it in stock)

Yup...been there, done that...twice. Both covered under warranty (although 2nd time was technically out of warranty, dealer covered it.)
