3M/XPEL CLEAR BRA APPLICATION FOR 2011 X5 DIESEL
To my surprise, a local vendor that I've used in the past for my BMW's actually had the application/kit for the 2011 X5 (already). Subsequently, the entire front end of my diesel got covered: Hood, fenders, front bumper (complete), mirrors, fog lights, headlights...All for the price of $695...Same day turnaround (about six hours of work). I'd show everyone pictures--which I did try to take--but the pictures end up showing nothing...Literally, my camera and/or the light conditions I tried to shoot it in, show nothing (my X5 is white). He's done two of my own X5's (this being the third) previously, as well as my 08 M5 and a bunch of other cars that I've referred (Porsche, Ferrari, et al). If anyone would like a referral, just let me know. [email protected]

Does he offer any guarantee against rock chips? I once had a sharp rock hit my headlight on the freeway (during the day). It ripped the 3m material but the headlamp was intact. It would have shattered for sure. The installer replaced the section for free. This product was originally made for the leading edges of helicopter blades. It's still used, actually. It's a bit thicker though. Either way, it's great stuff. You can wax it, polish it, and treat it identically to paint. The best part is, it shouldn't have a UV protectant in it, so it will allow the paint beneath it to fade at the same rate as unprotected paint. At least that's how the 3m product works. Thanks for the referral! |

That's what my Xpel clear guy would pay me for each referral and he in NY/NJ/CT.

Once you go Clear Bra, you never go back. I love mine and have had it since '01 on my e53.

Could someone recommend a good installer in Bay Area (around San Jose) California? Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply.
Yes: He offers a guarantee of replacement under conditions like you described. UV protectant: VERY good point. I (previously) had two white X5's and in the case of my 2006 X5, the hood protector had to be re-applied and the paint beneath was identical to the non-treated area as far as its color. Chris Quote:

Clear Bra
I would also consider under the door handle. My kit had that and I do recall my 07 showed scrathces there in only three years. I should not see them on the 10.
