Tech Package Price Higher on 35d vs. 35i?
Invoice: $2,550 MSRP: $2,800 My CA says that on 35d, the Tech Package is actually higher, though I don't know why it seems like they include the same things. He is saying that the pricing for Tech Package on 35d is: Invoice: $2,820 MSRP: $3,100 Can someone who recently bought a 35d with tech let me know? Thanks. |

What the CA is saying is what I see for both the 35d and 35i on the pricing PDFs.
It's a bit odd to try to compare the 35i with the 35d and 50i with the way that the 35i does models and packages. I can see where they were trying to go with the 35i, but it seems that they didn't quite finish the job. |

Out of sheer curiosity, I went online and tried to build a couple. The new "tiers" of the 35i are extremely confusing. Not really sure what each model adds other than vague "premium" and "sport activity" labels. For instance, the base only allows you to add the convienence package but the premium trim opens up other options. I'm not a fan of this new style. It kind of reminds me of trying to buy a Chevy. LT, SLT, LTD, etc....
While Im griping about packages, anyone notice that the keyless ignition costs $1000 on the X but only $500 on a 3 series? Something isnt right there. Are the parts different? I doubt it. I want the 2nd model year of the new 3 series in 2015(?) as my tooling around car since the wife is about to steal my X to drive the child to be around in, but everytime I go online to build the current one, I get killed on $1000 options without really adding anything. As much as it pains me to say it, the Infiniti G is looking more and more like a viable option. Comparably equipped, its $15-20,000 less than the 3er with "similar" though not quite as good performance. |
