Molecularly, carbon is the soul less "skeleton" of wood, so the two choices are more closely related than it would appear. Carbon is obviously superior for many applications within high performance automobiles, yachts, etc. , etc. Carbon is typically NOT a first choice in the "cozy" department, where psychological factors hold sway over pure engineering concerns.
