Runflats / non runflats lease return - BMWUSA?

Anyone know what BMW NA requires regarding tires when turning in the car. Have about a year left on my X5 and I think the tires are going to be marginal when I turn in the car. Would prefer not to fork over a ton for a new set of runflats if I can get away with standards.

OEM parts must be on the car - RFTs included.
Look for some take-offs on Craigslist or eBay. I found a set for my 535 on CL, only $50 per tire with 60% tread left (I found 275/35/18 Dunlop Runflats that retail for over $400 each!!).

Another option is to check the phone book (if you still own one lol) or online for local tire shops. I have found that a few usually also deal in used tires. You will be able to get a set with half tread life for a fraction of the cost. Only way to go with lease turn in!

Car has to be on legal tread when returning after lease expires. Take the old tires you have now and replace them with standards. Don't toss the old ones. Keep them and put them back on a few days before lease return.

Your standards that come off will have a bit of life left over and you can sell them and make a few $$.

I have a set of 4 takeoff Bridgestone Dueler RFT's with less than 100 miles on them - 255-55-18's - make a reasonable offer - located in NJ
