08 X5-3.0si tire and TPM questions
My '08 x5 3.0si (w/sports pkg) with ~35K miles will be needing new tires soon and looking thru what's available from Tirerack, not a whole lot of selection for run-flats. So I'm thinking of staying with the OEM Michelin Latitude Tour HP ZP. Just wondering if anyone else has other opinions. While on the subject of tires/wheels, I was wondering if anyone knows the approx battery life of the TPM sensors, since I will be changing tires soon and while I'm at it...I've heard that it may last 5-6 years so maybe at the 3rd set of tires would be the appropriate time to change them out. Also, the wheels has the balancing weights glued on (?) on the inner half of the rim. Are they glued-on so that they should stay there permanently, or the tire shop will remove them before rebalancing, and putting new ones on? Thank you very much. |

I am not sure if the TPM sensors have a battery life, I would think they are RFID and don't need batteries?
As far as the weights go, they will be replaced when the new tires are installed and wheels balanced.
