Chris61 is on a distinguished road
m sport stone chips.

Hi there, i know that the stone chips on the cill section and wheel arches is a recognised problem. Mr car is currently at the dealers having the archs, cills and bottom of the doors painted under warranty. They are then fitting the clear plastic protection to try and avoid it happening again. I really think the only way to stop this problem is to fit side steps, but bmw do not fir the side steps on the m sport model. I have noticed that some of you guys with the se models fit the steps and when you fit 20inch wheels put wheel arch extensions on. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the side steps to fit the m sport model, and is it possible to do so by changing the the wheel arch extensions. I am hoping someone may havemodified their m sport. In my opinion the car is not suitable for waht it has been designed for. I have only covered 7500 miles and the archs and cills are in a terrible state. Had i known this at the time i would definately purched the se and spec it up as the dealer reckons they do not chip when the side steps are fitted. Any advice would be gratefully recieved, regards, Chris.
