The recently announced iPad integration may be another alternative to the rear entertainment system.

I ended up getting it at another dealer here in Florida the system I provided in the link prior for $2495 installed. The dealer gave me a credit for $3500 so it was a wash, and I ended up getting a better deal overall from the dealer in NJ. I'll post some pics once the car is delievered in about 4 weeks!

I also just ordered an 50i but decided to skip on the rear entertainment system. Most likely going to go the iPad route as there are movies as well as educational software/games for the kids. I just need to search around for power connection options to support 2 or more iPads and when that iPad mount from BMW accessories becomes available (saw it in another thread).

Got these exact setup in the new X5 we picked up yesterday! Look great so far..the mount in the seat could be a little weak, but hopefully they hold up.

Does anyone know how to have them play over the stereo in the car? The only way they look to work is through the headsets??

Anyone with this setup I have a question. Do your monitors stay on with the car off and locked or do they turn off. I picked up a used set and it came with instructions but they appear to be contradictory as to where you put the power wire. I put the wire in the wrong place but the picture where it shows to put the new fuse matches where I put the wire (go figure). Problem is that my screens have a blue light on them and can be turned on with the car off. Not sure if I want to repin and try the other side of the plug so I am looking for how everyone elses work. I don't want to drain my battery.
