Which would you pick? Black color and body/wheel style.
Which would you pick (and why)?
Just curious what people think about this. Know it's subjective, but just like to see what the general trend is. Personally, I find the wheels on the MSport package a little weak. Think the X6M wheels look nicer and the 20" on the Sport Package more aggressive. Like the completely painted body work on the MSport, but the regular LCI looks nice too. Rugged. Plus it's gonna be black so does it being completely painted make much difference? If it were any other color, then that would be a different story. Never had a metallic black before. Read that it hids swirls better. But it isn't as dark black. Is metallic shinier at night? Thanks for your input.

You didn't indicate if your looking at the 35i or 50i, but in either case, the M-sport style 333 wheels are weak, both the 214's on the 35i sport or the 336 on the 50i are much better in my book. In general I really like the new styling and think it is just as aggressive if not more than m-sport package - with the fogs in the bumper, the air ducts look big and mean like on the X5M where the m-sport buts the lights in the air ducts. I also like the way the black contrasts, especially on my AW where painted all white I don't like it as much - on black, it all looks about the same painted or not, but still think I like the sport package more overall. As for color, carbon black on the m-sport or Black Sapphire on the non m-sport.

If you are going to do black, which ever black, I would get sport activity package rather than the M sport unless you really want the adaptive drive. The black plastic moldings blend the best with black. Other wise I agree with you that the M sport pack wheels are not as cool as the 336s from the sport activity package.
If you want another color than black, then the M sport is my recommendation. As for which black, Jet black is a swirl monster, hard to keep looking good unless you are a detailing freak. My 2 cents. X |

I've voted on Black Sapphire with MSport + 20" just because you live in SoCal

You can't get Jet Black in the M-Sport anyways (that I know of). But in any event I vote Jet Black with Sport Pack and 20"s. Sapphire looks too "milky" and Jet has more reflective qualities to it. I don't understand people that buy Sapphire as a "lazy man's black"--you should not own black if you don't know how to properly wash, wax it. My $.02.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.
Yeah. Posted this thread too quickly. Didn't realize that the MSport didn't come in Jet Black. This car will be a 50i. Adaptive drive will be a must unless someone can convince otherwise (uhm.. gonna start a separate thread on this one).

I agree, Adaptive Drive was a must-have on mine too, and I'm really happy with it.

Black Sapphire with Sport Package + 20"
Personally, I like the Alpine White, but nothing shines up nicer than a Black vehicle when it's clean. |

see if your dealer has both blacks on the lot and take a look.
We were deciding between Black Sapphire and Jet Black. My dealer happen to have both colors on the lot...had him park side by side and we chose Black Sapphire. We thought it looked better. However, we also thought Jet Black looked better on a 3 series.
