Took Delivery of my new 2011 X5 50i - First impressions - First mod
First mod was to removed the stock wheels and RFT tires. I bored out my original 20" 168 style wheel to 74.1mm, no spacers. Has that classic X5 look, easy to keep clean. Went with Vredestein group buy. excellent tire. ZAP, ZAV, ZCW, ZPP, ZPS, ZTP 2VA, 456, 4M5, 5AC, 5AD, 610, 6NF ![]() First impressions after 1,300 miles. Pros: - Turbo Engine and 8 speed transmission are absolutely amazing! Huge upgrade over my 2005 4.4i V8. - Leather dash looks very sharp, glad I pulled the trigger on that $1,200 option. - Coming from a non-nav E53, the iDrive system and gadgets are great. Everyday I find something new it can do. Cons: - The ventilated seats are a bit week, I have trouble telling if they are even on. not sure if this option was worth it. - Suspension is a bit too luxurious, even with the 20" wheels, sport package, adaptive drive, The LCI E70 is not as sure footed as my E53 was. - I miss the retractable cargo floor which I used a lot in my E53 (not an option anymore). Also wish those angel eye were white and not yellow. It was hard to respect the 1,000 mile break in period. just wants to be driven like a M3. As for the Stock 20" 336 wheels & tires, they are for sale. most of my decision making on what options to buy came from this forum so I'm all for someone here benefiting from this private sale. If interested PM with an offer. Details are on the Xoutpost for sale forum. Link

Looks nice!
One question about the wheels/tires for sale (I didn't want to stink up your for sale thread.) Why have the tires remounted if there are no TPMS sensors inside? A new buyer is going to have to buy (or swap) their TPMS sensors, pay for these to be unmounted, sensors put in, then re-mounted. Seems like an unnecessary step

Very nice X5! Can you tell me your opinion switching directly from the Dunlop RFT's to the Vredstein's? That is the exact switch I'm thinking about making. I'm actually happy with my X's handling, except the harshness over bumps and expansion joints and actually want the harshness gone. Did you notice a big difference between the two tire types?
