ohh jeez NOT AGAIN, coolant smell in brand new X5

It's a curse. See my post of the problem I had a while back with my 3 series...

Dealer wont fix antifreeze smell from AC vents..what to do - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com

SAME EXACT problem now.

Anyone know a local dealership (i'm in zip 11223) that can diagnose and fix this nonsense....

Have you smelled the coolant BMW uses these days?

I have not... does it smell like roses?

the small coming out of the vents isnt a STRONG coolant smell...but it does have that sweet smell that coolant does... i cannot imagine it being anything else...

Just a guess but its more likely there was a small spill during a top-off. If it persists and stays strong smelling, then you might have a problem.

OP is clearly invested in the absolute FACT that this car AND his prior car HAD coolant leaks.... any efforts to find an alternative explanation run counter to this pre-conceived conclusion.

Have fun with BMW of Manhattan- they are one of the worst. Be sure to rant and rave about the other car too, should work to your advantage.
