Buying Advice 2007 4.8

Gang

I am mulling around getting a 4.8i. It has sport and almost all the goodies.

Has 49k miles.

What are some fail points or gotchas I should really look for?

Also what are some good go faster mods I might consider (yes I am a Mod whore)

TIA

I picked up an 07 4.8i about seven moth's ago and it just turned 50k about 3 weeks ago. As your just about to come out of factory warranty I would suggest a thorough inspection top to bottom. While mine has been problem free, it would suck to get someone elses problems and be out of factory warranty.

I agree. There are a few trim issues and a steering wheel leather issue. Otherwise is felt and looked really good.

I bought mine knowing I had seven month's of factory warranty left. The only issue I had was the glove box leather trim peeled up. The dealership took care of it no problem. Just make sure there are no mechanical issues.

Hey Tim! long time..

couple common issues mostly cosmetic - steering wheel peeling, Roundel on the steering wheel getting discolored. The only mechanical issues were passenger AC piping cracked 2x in 3 years, 30K miles. Otherwise, very solid. Make sure it has the latest software update as some 4.8i had really jerky transmissions and abrupt takeoffs.

I bought mine about 2 months ago with 39K miles. The car still on warranty till July 2011. Since that time was changed :
Front brakes and rotors.
Rear brakes and rotors.
Battery.
Climate control motor.
All softwares updated.
Both headlights was changed because of condensation inside.

Everything was covered by warranty.

I just added 214 wheels with tires and fender flares.

Very nice truck.

Do you have pictures of the 214's and those flares? Sounds interesting.
