What's your best suggestion for Fog Light Bulbs ?

I'm fed up with the ugly stock fog lights. I had PIAA Yellow on my E92. Not sure those will look good on the X5. I know HID's all seem to throw errors or fry easily. What do you guys suggest ? I'm all ears !

Stay with halogens for the fogs. HID's will burn out quickly from the constant on/off of our fog lights due to the turning/directional use crap.

I took the really easy way out and just painted my fog lens yellow.

I put in GP Thunder 85k H11 bulbs. Much better for me. Not sure I'll do yellow. I also did my halos at 65k H8 but they look bad, currently waiting for some 85k H8 to arrive.

I did 85k GP's on the Halos. I may just order the same for the Fogs.

Did you do the higher watt 85k H8 or standard? I ordered the standard. How do you like them?

I'm pretty sure I have the standard. I had the same ones in my E92 for 3 years. They do the job well.

I have both GP Thunders in the Halos as well as the fogs. I will tell you, I went with the 8.5k for the Halo's and it looks great...matches the HID headlights almost perfectly. I also put the 8.5k in the fogs and what I found was it was more blue than the halo's even though both are rated at 8.5k. I also noticed a significant light output decrease while driving with 8.5k fogs in place. I replaced them with the 7.5k fogs from GP Thunder and now they match the Halos nearly perfectly and I get a bit more light output. Why the kelvin scale doesn't match in light color output between the H11 and H8 is anyones guess....maybe it has to do with the corona changing the light color, not really sure. So I'd go with 8.5k in the Halos/Coronas and 7.5k in the fogs. I used GP thunder for both.

Nice. White light does not help much in fog.

The higher the kelvin the lower the light output (lumens) for halogen bulbs, whereas it's the opposite for LED.
