X5 E70 brake service
Hi All,
My 2007 X5 3.0D (E70) needs to have the front brakes done - this time both the Rotors and the pads are due. I am looking for any gotchas that I might encounter. Also how do I reset the brake service indicator after the job is done? Thanks Hans

If the light has come on saying that you require brake pads, it is a one-time sensor, and must be replaced.
Other than that, it is a straightforward brake job. I trust that you changed the brake fluid after 24 months.

use this walk through
http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...e-job-diy.html piece of cake. if the warning light came on, you will need to replace the sensor. |

Here's a link to my brake pad replacement. If you've done brake pads on other BMWs, you should have no problem getting the rotors replaced also. Pad life remaining can be reset using iDrive, but if your brake light is on, you will need to replace the sensor cable.
