Lease Trade in Question / Order detail questions

Hi all, I am about to be a new X5 owner and posted some questions on another forum but also found this one and wanted to post here.

I am two years into a three year lease and have put very little miles on the vehicle. With the holiday specials we have decided to "trade in" the car early and go from our Acura to a new X5 lease. The buyout on our current lease is 30k and that is what the dealer agreed to give us for the car which would let us walk away from the lease without loss. We just found out that the dealer is actually getting the car for 28k because they do not have to pay taxes on the buyout as a dealer vs. us as a consumer. Is this a benefit that should somehow be passed on to us as they were willing to do 29k on our trade or is it a wash since we would have to pay 29k to buy it out it anyway and they are just benefiting from the lack of tax as a dealer?

Also, does anyone know if the side view cameras are actually available? Reading some forums led me to think the answer was yes but the dealer said no. Also, when I add the Sport Package online it gives an option for a M Steering Wheel but again the dealer said it is not an option when they go to actually order the car. Anyone have any insight? If it is possible to add these features I would love to know.

Thanks!!

The sideview cameras are 100% available and have been since August builds.

Do you know the correct code? Is it different from "Rear View Camera with Top View" ? My dealer swore it was only an option on the 7 series. I am currently in production, can I even get it added at this point? Thanks for the reply.

Its 5DK. Im not sure how far along you are, so I can't tell you, but usually you have at least a week where changes can be made. It really sucks that your CA didn't research it better for you.

Do you know if this is an additional option on top of the rear-view camera w/ top view, already part of it, or if it replaces it? Thanks
