Alpine White + Rain

So, it's been over 3 years since I've had Alpine White (had silver and metallic gray in between). So...AW is great for dust and heat, but so NOT great for rain and muddy, dirty streets. Just drove like 5 miles this morning, in light drizzle, and you would have thought I went off roading! Seriously, street mud/dirty water was sprayed from the front fender all the way to the rear bumper...and ALL the way up to the side windows and side mirrors...and it shows SO much on AW.

Alpine White does not like wet weather!!

Love my 35d though!!!

Hey, it's good that you're only finding things like this to complain about

I have been wanting a new, clean modern diesel for over 10 years. Each time we go back home to Germany & Sweden, we always rent great diesel models that we do not have here. Our genuises in California only recently allowed the sale of diesel passenger cars (but the sale of dirty, diesel trucks has always been allowed!). I am SO happy with my 35d! It is everything and way more than I had expected!

I noticed that with my AW 4.4. I do think it hides dirt better than black though. I love this color!

One thing I just found out is that it hides salt like nobody's business. The slush splash, not so much but that rust making salt is invisible.

Just a minor little fact....your tailpipe emissions are the same as a class 8 truck....

Everyone's diesels are cleaner than they were 10 years ago. Forget Hybrid and plug in cars....diesels are the only way that car manufacturers are going to meet the FED CAFE standards....and give the public what they want....not a circus clown car....

Class 8
The Class 8 truck gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is anything above 33,000 pounds (14,969 kg).[11] These include all tractor trailer trucks.

Class 1
The Class 1 truck gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) ranges from 0 to 6,000 pounds (0 to 2,722 kg).[1] Examples of trucks in this class include the Ford Ranger and GMC Canyon, and several other passenger SUVs and trucks.

According to California, and US guidelines as well, our X5s are classified as Class One. Also, with our diesel additives, the X5 Diesel has no where near the polluting emissions as a Class 8 truck. Class 8 is for over 33,000 pounds!!!

it's the dirt, which is to be expected. Mine only shows it's dirty like that after snow, not after rain (because we have little mud/dirt mixed on roads here). This is with spacers too which means crap gets kicked up onto the body easier.
