Well, it is Here...07 4.8

It got here Friday night. Was on a truck for a week and man was it dirty.

I had been driving my Wife's 04 4.8is for a week and I have to say that the 07 is less raw than hers. Hard to put into words. When we drove home we took off from stoplights a few times and the 07 had longer legs that is for sure . But it is so dang quiet . Needs everything removed exhaust wise and an X pipe and set of Magnaflow's put in.

The HUD is kick ass. I love it. Active steering is wonderful and I love the looks. The iDrive is VERY confusing. I need to RTFM to even do the simple little things.

I have to take it in for a total re-program though as the time won't hold in the cluster. And my BMW mechanic friend said the first place to start is the software update. Keeping our fingers crossed it is not the cluster. But since we trade Computer work for Cars it is not to bad

The POS dealer I bought it from did not include the Floor Mats, Cargo cover, Second key and DVD remote. I am working on that. Anyone know a Guy named "Moe" that could go strong arm a MA dealer?

I have running boards for it. I would like the AERO kit and I am torn with getting the 5 spoke 20's.

Here is a picture for the picture whores (I am one of them).

I would love it. But the swap out is intense from what I can tell (whole front fenders etc. correct? If I remember right as to what you wanna do. I am lucky to have a client that is a body shop and the kit is $850ish unpainted from Pacific. I would do it if we were closer. Hell, this came out of MA. So it WAS close Funny thing is that it spent its life in Las Vegas. Sold to a MA dealer and then mostly back to Vegas here in Denver

I have looked your pictures over very closely and lover the Aero look. I am just really torn between the Y spokes and the 5 spokes. I am not sure of the numbers. Heck, i should have just bought your whole X

Cant buy it.. my X is Lemon'D..

send me a PM with your offer. I can tell you that my local mechanic would do the whole swap for ~$500. (including both cars and hitch)

Don't mean to hijack the thread..

Hey, FYI, when my 07 X5 4.8 would not hold time, the service department told me it was a battery issue, the said battery not holding a charge well enough...

That was the first thing to look at they said, when replaced, there was no longer a problem...

Give the battery a good charge. If it sat for a week, it can loose the time because of that. Even after a run, I bet you played with it in the driveway and ran it down some again. A trickle charger is a good idea if it will sit often.

Congrats on it BTW.

I like the 5-spoke wheels. Here are some pics to convince you. Last one is before pics with 214s and first 2 are after 5-spoke wheels pics. Not mine, but belongs to someone here.

5 spoke (style 128) is my favorite. But, I would check out the 21" RFT prices before going this route.
