2011 X5 Parking Brake
Today while driving my new 2011 X5 SAV which is only 2 weeks old, the parking brake light came on. I had to stop at the side of the street, turn off my engine and start the car again then the parking brake light went away. Anybody had the same problem on their new 2011 X5?

Was it the parking brake or the Auto Hold button? You may have enabled this by mistake.

IOW was the word "Parking" red or green?

i had the same issue few weeks ago, only the light didnt go away, the whole unit was shot. i was shocked that a parking brake can cost $1300 to repair

Bring it by me and I can charge you $2800.

I fail to be shocked by what people charge and other people pay....
