iPhone 4 Bluetooth issue

Hi there, I just got a new iPhone and paired it with my X5. The pairing seemed to work fine, however the audio doesn't play through the car speakers. When I place a call the iPhone asks me to pick one of 3 outputs - the BMW, Speaker, or iPhone. When I try to select BMW, nothing happens. I need to put the phone up to my ear to listen.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong but don't know what.

Any help is appreciated.

You need to turn on Bluetooth audio. When you see the iPhone in iDrive, there are two icons. The phone icon is probably on (white) and the audio off (grey).

You can go into the menu for the iPhone and click the audio on. It's not as straight forward as it should be.
