Option 6NR BTW, on slide 10 Usage of the Plugin Menu ... The Plugin menu will provide (initially) the Ipod Out (ipod user interface on BMW display) capability. I guess BMW could develop additional services residing on the iPhone that would then feature in the plugin menu. Anyways this is a good start. Would like to see Pandora come along. Also tentatively being reported for March will be the option to display Iphone video (movies, video podcasts, music videos, etc) on the control display (when the vehicle is parked).

I'm a bit confused....is this going to be backwards compatible at all? Why the need for the docking cradle instead of the iPod cable? Which leads me to...will I need a new cable when I get me Verizon iPhone next month?
