Intro / Question / Thoughts....AW '10 X5 3.0
I recently purchased, for my wife, a 2010 X5 AW w/ Dark Brown Interior... I have always wanted an X5 so when she said she liked it, well I was pumped! I drive an '09 Tundra CrewMax, with some mods...so when I drive her X5 it's a race car for me. Anyways, her X5 has the stock 18s which are pretty solid, but I want 20s. What's everyone's pic for 20's if they had their choice? Please post a pic if possible. I like the rep X6 rims, but the Monza's are sweet, then there is the more classic 214s...just can't decide. Also, someone was saying not to go with a staggered setup, but I did not see a reason why???
I am guessing wearing issues make a huge difference. How many miles do you guys get out a set of 20" 214s, staggered vs not staggered? |

Replaced front with used ones off ebay at 23k miles and then replaced all four at 31K miles with new ones. Stayed with the Dunlop Sport Maxx 20's. The 31K that I got our of the rear tires seems to be the exception rather than the rule from what I've read on this forum.

I drive like a grandpa in the tundra because of the crappy mpg.
Most of the roads around Hot Springs are extremely curvy and hilly. Perfect for sport mode and hauling ass in the x5. |

30k miles is pretty good, the dealer said they only get about 8k miles with the 214s which I thought was rediculous.
We do not drive the x5 too often. About 7k miles a year mostly highway to Fayetteville. Quote:

8K is terrible. Alignment would have to be way off or vehicle driven very aggressively. I could have waited even longer to replace the tires as they were not really worn out, but we were getting ready to take a trip and dealer had amazing deal on Dunlops. We don't drive very aggessively and I must have gotten lucky with a good alignment on this car.

can't go wrong with either the x6 reps or 214s imo. I have the Toyo Proxes all-seasons and they are well above 15k miles and have plenty of tread left. It's obviously the tire, not the wheel that matters. Another negative vote for the summer-onlys.

How much & where do you get the Toyo's?
I am going to stay away from run flats / and summer only tires. Maybe I can get 20K miles out of a set of tires which would be cool with me. |
