$4,000 for LCI aero kit!!

Was just at the dealer to check out tpms issue (see thread below) and I decided to inquire about the aero kit. I had seen it on the bmw site for about $1,500 and thought it would look nice. When they came back to show me the quote, the parts guy was actually chuckling. For the front and back pieces they want 1,650 and another 650 if I want the side skirts. I thought it was expensive but still do-able. Then he says, "This is unpainted and does not include the labour. That will be another 1,500 or so." So there you have it, nearly $4k for the aero kit. That just totally killed my joy. What are you all paying in the US?

Cheers,

Go find DonIBM...he's paying about 30k for plastic and fiberglass, I mean a bodykit, and he's hardcore about backing his decision.

Sounds about right. I was quoted something like 2500 for the kit (including tax) and about 2500 for painting and install. This was for the front and back bumper and side skirts. I would think at this price point you can expect a flawless paint job.

I just called to order front and back (51 19 2 182 825) from my local dealer last week, and they said the list was 1346. I do not need the sides as I have the running boards. 4000 is ridiculous!!! order it and take it to a bodyshop. The entire job with the skirts should cost no more than 2500!!!

BMW Accessories - Item View

whole kit is 1884 retail. 2200 to paint and install these parts that need no mods to even fit perfect. They are out of their mind!!

I honestly don't see the big deal about this kit. It's barely noticeable. On a Black vehicle like mine, you wouldn't even see it. I'd rather get something Vorsteiner.

I checked as well, and found nothing. Only for the X6M. I really got hopeful there for a second.
